Some bogus rumors :
 Lung cancer rates spiked in 2006. This rumor originated with a misstatement (or misheard statement) on a CNN broadcast. In checking with various lung associations and the CDC, the word is that lung cancer statistics run at least a year behind the present and that no one associated with the CDC and lung associations has has heard anything indicating that this is true.
DU is causing radioactive iodine which is killing fetuses. This originated with a fundamentalist Christian salesperson who sells potassium salts to combat radioactive iodine. It is completely false and it is impossible since radioactive iodine is only created during fission (in a reactor or nuclear explosive device) and is not part of the DU decay chain.
